Grant Verstandig is the founder and CEO of Rally Health, Inc., a consumer-centric digital health company that develops online and mobile tools that empower people to take control of their health and well-being and manage their healthcare needs. Verstandig founded Rally® in April 2010 under the name Audax, raising more than $55 million prior to UnitedHealth Group acquiring a majority stake in the business in 2014. In 2017, Rally became a wholly owned subsidiary of Optum, Inc. which is part of UnitedHealth Group. At that time, Rally’s was the largest digital health exit to date.

He was studying neurobiology at Brown University when he went through a series of knee surgeries stemming from a lacrosse injury and began a long and frustrating journey through the healthcare system. The experience ignited a determination in him to find a way to make healthcare easier and more accessible for everyone. He left college his sophomore year, and at age 21 founded Rally Health (previously Audax) with the singular focus to transform the consumer health and well-being industry.

Throughout Verstandig’s career, he has served as an advisor to several organizations in the health, defense, foreign policy and intelligence space, and is a senior advisor to the National Security Agency. His is also on the National Council for the American Enterprise Institute and is a founding member of the Greater Washington Partnership where he is currently a director of the organization. Verstandig has frequently spoken on how data and analytics can transform the intelligence world, and he has worked closely as an advisor on both cyber policy and advanced algorithmic development, big data, and the impact graph theory and AI will play in the future. Grant holds several patents in these fields and is a frequent guest at start-up organizations and on TV and Sirius XM. He resides in the Washington D.C. area.
