Anna Wilde Mathews covers managed care for The Wall Street Journal, playing a leading role in coverage of issues including health costs, the deals reshaping the sector and the Affordable Care Act.

Mathews has been a reporter at the journal since 1996, working from Washington, New York and Los Angeles. She has written on health topics for 15 years, covering beats including the Food and Drug Administration, health policy, pharmacy-benefit managers, hospitals and a consumer health-finance column. Mathews was part of a journal team that won a Pulitzer Prize and a Loeb Award in 2015 for stories on Medicare.
